Black Squad Crew – Teens Dance Theater

The hip-hop group was established as part of the dance theatre activity. Target group were high-schools’ students. We initiated with soft skills workshops to get the group together and slowly familiarize them with the topics of stereotypes, prejudices and bullying especially on ethnic and religious basis. It was important to start talking about this issue as they tend to be source of tensions among teenagers. After 10 weekly workshops, the group joined together and we suggested them to prepare performance together. Hip-hop was used as a tool to prepare dance performance. And another group was asked to prepare Forum Theatre performance.

At the end, we got a group of 8 teens who were ready to perform publicly and they held 5 public presentations: in High school in Debar, in the main squares in Ohrid and Struga and in Skopje.
