Collaborate for Sustainable Development

About the Project:
Sustainable tourism focuses on preserving natural resources and integrating local residents, promoting a harmonious balance between tourism development and environmental protection. The project aims to have a significant impact on the local community by promoting tourism and ecological responsibility.

Engaging local residents will provide them with practical tourism skills, enabling them to start tourism-related activities during the project period. This will contribute to additional family income and the economic development of the region.

The project activities will take place in Struga (rural areas of Jablanica and Karaorman) and Demir Hisar (rural areas of the Plakenska Mountain).

General Objective of the Project:
To create sustainable communities by motivating local residents (particularly women and youth) to initiate activities for the sustainable use of natural resources through inspiring practical demonstrations, networking, education, and promotion.
Timeline:
November 2024 – August 2025
Expected Results:
  • Strengthening the capacities of women and youth from rural areas for sustainable harvesting and utilization of non-timber products through experiential learning and practical activities.
  • Promoting ecological corridors and sustainable, eco-friendly tourism through the creation of local products.
