Macedonian Model UN
LDA Struga together with students from local high schools participated in this year’s edition of the project "Macedonian Model UN." This is a project that includes 160 high school and university students from several Macedonian towns, divided into 25 teams where each team is a member state of the UN. Participants through a simulation were placed in the role of: statesmen, diplomats, researchers of international issues, mediators and others. The team from Struga represented Canada. The goal of this project in which participants worked six months is to educate young Macedonian population about what it means and how diplomacy is conducted, and the ways in which global issues can be addressed such as: human trafficking, reduce global pollution, and to strengthen their skills in maintainинг debates and public speaking. The event is held under the auspices of the U.S. Peace Corps, in cooperation with the Coalition of youth organizations SEGA.
